2019 Ribbon Cutting Celebration

To celebrate the camper’s accomplishments and Voigt Elementary’s new basketball court, RangerACE organized a ribbon cutting ceremony for the community the Saturday after camp ended. The event featured food trucks, prizes, guest speakers and a basketball game featuring the campers.

Speakers included Dr. Danny Presley (Round Rock Independent School District Senior Chief of Schools & Innovation); Voigt Elementary Principal, Cheryl Hester; and Round Rock Mayor, Craig Morgan, who dedicated the new court with a permanent plaque.

After speeches and the ribbon cutting, the exhibition basketball game kicked off, featuring several local celebrities squaring off against the RangerACE campers. Legendary NBA hall of famer, George “Iceman” Gervin joined in on the fun, as did San Antonio Spurs official mascot – The Coyote – and the Austin Spurs official mascot – Da Bull.
